What equipment is available to help me?
Different types of equipment are available to help with different aspects of life:
- In the house - talking microwaves, scales, jugs, liquid level indicators, iron guards, big button telephones, task lighting, bath water level alert, talking alarm clocks, bump ons and devices for labelling food and other items around the home.
- Out and about - symbol, sonic and long canes, as well as cards for attracting the attention of the bus driver.
- At work - computer software (e.g. screen readers and magnification), Dictaphones, writing frames, signature guides, typoscopes for reading, desk lamps and other lighting.
