Will I lose my benefits if I do further training?
You cannot usually work while you are getting Incapacity Benefit, Severe Disablement Allowance, National Insurance Credits or Income Support because of illness or disability. However, the JobCentre Plus website has details of the various circumstances in which it is possible to undertake paid work and still claim benefits.
Claimants are allowed to carry out up to 16 hours of work per week without their benefits being affected.
By undertaking training, a claimants benefits are not affected.
