Meet our Staff

 

Phill Hopkins – Senior Manger

 

Phill was born in Bristol and has lived in Yorkshire for the past 24 years. He has worked at Henshaws for 3 years.

He studied sculpture at Goldsmiths College, University of London. Phill brings a variety of skills and experience to his role.  He spent 19 years as a manager in the further education sector and has run his own garden design business.

He continues to make his own artwork, exhibiting his sculptures and drawings widely in the UK and Europe.  His work is represented in major collections including The Imperial War Museum London, the Henry Moore Institute and Leeds City Art Gallery.

 

Simon Burgon – Commercial Manger

Simon was born in Leeds and has worked at Henshaws for over 10 years.

Simon’s background is as a classically trained chef and over the past 20 years he has worked and trained in hotels and restaurants both in the UK and Europe. He is a member of the Craft Guild of Chefs and holds an advanced craft diploma as well as a group training qualification.

 

Maria Dawbarn – Workshop Manger

Maria was born in Leeds. She has worked at Henshaws for 12 years.

Maria studied Ceramics at Duncan of Jordanstone University, Dundee. She continues to make her own artwork exhibiting throughout the UK in various galleries.
