VIAT Training

Henshaws offers a professionally delivered one day course for employers and employees that addresses the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act for visual impairment awareness.

The visual impairment awareness training (VIAT) course aims to:

• Raise awareness of visual impairment and the differing needs of people who are blind or visually impaired
• To develop skills in working with people with a visual impairment, to enable them to have greater mobility, confidence and independence
• To examine the influence of the environment on visually impaired people

The course will benefit those whose work brings them in to contact with visually impaired people, including:

• Managers
• Employers and Employees
• Voluntary and Community
• Organisations from both the Public and Private sectors
