Moving on

Moving on to Arts and Crafts Centre Student at graduation Vocational opportunities

From their very first day at the College, we work with students and their families to explore future options. These options will develop over their time at the college.  Our aim is that all students leave College as confident adults, who have choice and control of their future.

Throughout their learning programme, students will explore possible future options.  They’ll get to meet our Connexions Advisor, and their personal tutor will help them to make realistic plans for their future independence.

After graduation, many students move on to shared supported housing. Some return to their home area but live independently of their parents and carers.  Henshaws has community housing across the North of England in Harrogate, Manchester and Gateshead.

For leavers who will be living in the Harrogate, Leeds or York areas, Henshaws’ Arts and Crafts Centre, based in Knaresborough, offers excellent day services.  It provides training in eleven creative workshops – and our artmakers sell their work in the centre’s shop!
