We’ve always had lots of support from local schools, colleges and pre-schools.  That’s because our work with schools is a two way thing.

In every school we visit we deliver our messages via:

  • Assembly presentations
  • Curriculum linked fundraising activities

Our assembly presentations are interactive, using our simulation spectacles. And our fundraising ideas fit well with the Every Child Matters agenda - especially ‘enjoying and achieving’ and ‘making a positive contribution.’

We’ve got lots of ideas about how schools can fundraise for us.  How about holding a Wear Bright for Sight event instead of the traditional ‘non-uniform’ day?  Check out our school fundraising ideas section!

Our feedback from schools is always positive.  Henshaws in Newcastle held a week of assemblies at Churchill Community College, speaking to over 1400 young people.  The school reported that the children’s attitudes towards vulnerable people and people who are ‘different’ really changed - and there was a notable reduction in cases of bullying.

So whether you’re a pupil, parent, teacher or group leader – get in touch with your local office and let’s get fundraising!
