Remember Henshaws in your will

Henshaws was founded as a result of a legacy left by Oldham businessman Thomas Henshaw.

In 2008-9, over 50% of donations to Henshaws came from legacies.

Legacy donations allow us to continue providing life-changing support to local people with sight loss.

There are many reasons why it is important to make a will:

  • You can choose the executors - those who will ensure that your wishes are carried out
  • It’s a positive demonstration of generosity
  • It enables you to choose what gifts you wish to leave and to whom, including charities
  • Legacies to charity are free from inheritance tax – which will significantly reduce or eliminate the tax burden on your estate

If you would like more information about making a will we have produced a free guide and have a list of local solicitors who can assist you.

If you have already remembered Henshaws in your will, please let us know - we would like to thank you and keep you up to date with our activities.  However, if you would prefer not to tell us, we don’t mind at all.

Our Legacies Manager can be contacted on 0161 872 1234 or legacies@henshaws.org.uk.
