Organising your own event
Organising a fundraising event doesn’t need to be complicated, and doesn’t need a large team of people. We can help your idea become a successful fundraising event.
Get started
Have a look at our A-Z of fundraising ideas. Simple events can just be as successful as elaborate ones.
Decide where and when you will hold the event - book the venue in advance. Check the capacity, car parking facilities and whether you need first aid and security. We can help with a risk assessment.
If you can’t do it all by yourself, organise a mini committee of family, friends and colleagues. You can also contact your local Henshaws fundraising office for support.
Promoting your event
Contact local papers, radio stations and websites. Contact us to get fundraising materials (balloons, banners, leaflets, pens) and to get artwork and press releases approved.
On the day
Have a checklist of the tasks that need to be carried out during the event and the responsibilities of individuals helping you. Make sure safety plans (first aid, security) are running effectively. Most importantly, have fun - and take lots of photos!
Post event
Thank everyone involved and update them on the amount raised. Send photos to Henshaws and your local newspapers. Send Henshaws the money that you have generously raised. And congratulate yourself on a successful event!
