It's the first time I've volunteered, but I’ve found that volunteering in the Music and Drama workshop at the Arts and Crafts Centre has given me a real sense of purpose and satisfaction.
I’m a professional musician and I’m enjoying using my skills in a new way. Everyone at Henshaws has made me feel so welcome. I would recommend it to everyone!

Since becoming an IT trainer I haven’t looked back. My strength as a trainer is I understand what people are going through. I’ve been there, and I still am there myself. I can honestly tell people the benefits of skills like touch-typing.

I'm at Henshaws College, and in the holidays I volunteer at the holiday club at Henshaws North East. I mostly help out by chasing after them on trips and helping them stay together! I like working with the staff – I learn a lot and it boosts my confidence.
I think the skills I learn at Henshaws – at the College and through my volunteering Holiday Club – will really help me in my future.

I started volunteering for Henshaws many years ago as an instructor at gym club on Saturday mornings.
I love working at Henshaws. Everyone is really friendly and so positive. It’s fantastic for me to see people achieving their goals. It gives me huge satisfaction to help open up new ways for visually impaired people to explore healthy living and exercise.
I am now a full time lifeguard at a local pool. Henshaws put me through my national pool lifeguard qualification. If it wasn’t for Henshaws I wouldn’t be working where I am now – thank you Henshaws!
