Completing the Application Form
Part A
Part A of the application form is the first part of the selection process and it will be used for shortlisting purposes. Please complete all sections fully and emphasise where you believe you meet the requirements of the job, relating to the job description and person specification.
All applications for employment will be treated in strict confidence and any information submitted using the Henshaws application form will be held in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
Part B
This part of the application form will not be used as part of the shortlisting or selection process.
References
Henshaws reserves the right to obtain references for candidates shortlisted for interview. However, we will not seek references until you have given us your permission to do so.
Relationships to Senior Managers
You are required to state on the application form whether you are related to either a member of the Board of Management or to any other employee of Henshaws. We want to ensure that the selection process is not prejudiced in any way.
Driving Licence
You should only complete this part of the form if there may be a requirement to drive as part of your role.
Disclosure of Criminal Offences
The post for which you are applying is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. For this reason, you are required to declare any pending prosecutions or criminal convictions you may have, conditional discharges, bindover or cautions. If we employ you and we subsequently discover that you have been deliberately dishonest or evasive in your reply, your dishonesty may constitute grounds for dismissal.
Equal Opportunities
Henshaws is committed to equality of opportunity. No applicant will be treated less favourably than another on the grounds of gender, marital status, disability, race or ethnic origin, religion, sexual orientation, age or background.
To assist us in monitoring the effectiveness of our policy, we would ask you to complete the equal opportunities monitoring information.
Immigration Controls
You will be required to produce one (or a combination) of documents if invited to interview to assist Henshaws in meeting the requirements of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996.
What happens next?
As Henshaws is a charity, unfortunately, it is not possible for us to reply to every individual application. Therefore, if we have not responded to your application within three weeks of the closing date, you should assume that your application has been unsuccessful.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the interest you have shown in Henshaws.
