If you want to move into employment, volunteering or further education – or if you just want to build your confidence and meet new people – then our free Skillstep training course is for you.

Each course lasts 12 weeks, with 3 sessions every week.  It runs from our centre in Heaton, in the east end of Newcastle.  Skillstep runs three times a year starting in January, April and September.

It’s mostly practical work and you’ll get the benefit of our experienced trainers and guest speakers.  There are five different modules:

  • Information technology
  • Mobility and independence skills
  • Personal and social development
  • Vocational skills
  • Two week work placement

You’ll gain a nationally recognised qualification, accredited by the Open College Network (OCN).
