Our facilities

Soft play areaGirl smiling with fibre optics

Both our Manchester and Liverpool centres have a soft play area, light and sensory room and a toy and tape library.

Light and sensory rooms

Our sensory rooms have specialist equipment from bubble tubes to sound and light beams.  Children can use the room to relax, for sensory stimulation and to learn techniques like ‘tracking and trailing.’

The light and sensory rooms in both centres are free to hire every weekday from 9.00am - 4.00pm

Soft play areas

Our soft play areas are a safe space for visually impaired children to build their confidence and have fun at the same time!

We have Nintendo Wii consoles and audio described children’s films and TV programmes on large screen televisions.

Toy and tape library

Specialist toys are often expensive, so we lend them out to families free of charge.

We have a wide variety of noisy, bright and tactile toys to choose from at both our centres.  We can explain the benefits of each toy and whether it would be right for your child.

We also have story tapes and CDs, audio described videos and DVDs, and a good selection of Braille, large print and tactile books.

The Vision Charity generously donated £10,000 of new toys and specialist equipment to us this year.
