Visual impairment awareness training (VIAT)

VIAT is an interactive one day visual impairment training course for anyone who wants to know more about life with a visual impairment.

Through our visual impairment training course you will learn

  • How the eye works
  • About a range of eye conditions
  • How to approach and guide a person with a visual impairment
  • About accessible equipment and daily living skills
  • How to make your workplace accessible 

You will get a chance to try our simulation spectacles – and get an idea what people with common eye conditions might see. The day runs from 10.00am – 3.00pm

You’ll also get a useful information pack to take away and use when you need it.

Costs

  • Visual impairment training course at our premises (including lunch) – £60 per person, £570 for a group of 10-16.
  • Visual impairment training course at your premises (not including lunch) £670 for a group of 10-16.
