Evening Social Group Supporter

Where: Various venues

When: An evening, usually once every six weeks

Commitment: Dependant upon the event – usually a whole evening plus transport time(if appl)

Purpose: Provide fun activities for people who are often unable to access them, thus promoting independence and confidence

Activities:

  • Support and guide the visually impaired person in various social activities
  • Help with ordering meals, refreshments, etc.
  • Direct or escort to and from facilities
  • Encourage the involvement of the client with the group

Skills/ Requirements:

  • Ability to guide and support
  • Friendliness and sociability

Benefits:

  • Meeting new people and enjoying volunteers’ social functions
