Henshaws at Home Supporter

Where: A private home in the local area

When: Date/ time to be agreed between yourself and the Henshaws service user

Commitment: At least two hours a fortnight

Purpose: To enable a visually impaired person to achieve maximum independence

Activities:

  • Supporting the client in various aspects of everyday life such as:
  • Dealing with correspondence (e.g. letter writing and bill paying)
  • Arranging social activities
  • Escorting to and assisting at events (social and medical)
  • Generally providing a friendly, emotionally supportive presence

Skills/ Requirements:

  • Caring, friendly nature & ability to listen
  • Practical and organised with good time management
  • Ability to write a short report for each visit
