Who we support

Our education, care and therapy teams specialise in working with young people aged between 16 and 25 years with a wide range of disabilities. We think that the best people to tell you what it’s really like here are our students themselves! Follow the links below to hear their stories and learn how we support them to achieve their goals.

Tom's 10km run fundraising challenge

Tom, 19, of Bishop Monkton is in his first year at Henshaws Specialist College.

He has set himself the challenge of completing the Melmerby 10k on Sunday 29 May in a bid to raise funds for a MOTOmed movement trainer for our gym to help other students improve their mobility.

Tom said: “I think it’s very important to give something back to people who have more disabilities than me. ”
