Short Breaks For Children in North Yorkshire

We have experience of working with children of all ages with learning difficulties, complex needs, autism, epilepsy, physical disability and those affected by sensory loss.

Henshaws has a specialism in supporting those with visual impairment.

In partnership with North Yorkshire County Council (NYCC), Henshaws Yorkshire provides the following services:

  • Holiday day breaks for visually impaired and disabled children from age 5 to 18 years
  • Weekend workshops at our Arts and Crafts Centre in Knaresborough
  • After school clubs
  • Fun activities that promote independence
  • Full use of our leisure facilities

At the moment, only families resident in the NYCC catchment area are eligible to access the Short Breaks for Children. Places on our holiday schemes and after school clubs are allocated by NYCC.

For more information about the service, please click here to see our Short Breaks leaflet.

If you live in North Yorkshire and would like to enquire about eligibility for our Short Breaks for Children, contact your child’s social worker or NYCC Disabled Children’s Services.
