Henshaws can help companies understand how to support customers with a visual impairment, learning and physical disabilities. All our training can be tailored to your needs, including dual sensory impairment, wheelchair guiding and sighted guide, covering techniques for guiding visually mpaired people with safety and confidence. We also work in partnership with a range of universities to deliver accredited programmes.

 

Visual Impairment Awareness Training


This 1-day practical and fun workshop provides information about different eye conditions and their impact on daily life, and examine the influence of the environment on visually impaired people. Delegates will learn basic guide skills that can be used to assist a visually impaired person. Tips on how to fulfil inclusiveness within the workforce and accessibility for customers are also provided.

Disability Etiquette Training


Is it alright to say “I’ll see you later” to a blind person? Is it alright to offer to help a wheelchair user to open a door?

This 1-hour practical seminar will give your staff the confidence, skills and knowledge to welcome customers with disabilities into your company.

 

Specialist Training


We are able to offer a range of specialist training courses. Our fully equipped and accessible facilities, including a tactile training area, accessible kitchens and superb Information Communication Technology (ICT) facilities are ideal for training.
