Discover Creative Day Support Your Residents Will Love

Trusted off-site provision for care homes supporting adults with disabilities

Running a care home means constantly juggling the needs of your residents, your team, and regulators. We know how hard it can be to deliver engaging, meaningful activities every day, especially for individuals with complex needs. That’s where Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre can help.

Hear Directly from Our Artmakers

Located in Knaresborough, we’ve been supporting adults with disabilities for over 25 years. Our structured creative workshops offer a safe, welcoming space for people to express themselves, connect with others, and build confidence through arts, crafts, music and more.

Don’t just take our word for it, hear what our Artmakers have to say.

In our video, you’ll meet the people who attend the Centre every week. They’ll show you what the sessions mean to them, how they’ve grown, and what it feels like to be part of something creative and supportive. Their words say it best and we’d love for someone you support to feel the same.

Why Choose Us?

At Henshaws, we’ve designed our offer to be practical, flexible, and genuinely impactful. Here’s how we support you and your residents:

  • Arts and Crafts icon

    Meaningful, structured activities

Our workshops include pottery, painting, woodwork, music and sensory art, all delivered in a consistent, timetabled format that residents can rely on and look forward to.

  • Support icon

    Proven impact on wellbeing

Participants gain confidence, reduce isolation, and build social connection. We see positive changes in mood, motivation, and engagement – and so do the care teams who refer to us.

  • Wheelchair icon

    Inclusive and accessible

We support individuals with a wide range of needs, including complex communication needs, autism and learning disabilities. Our team adapts sessions to each person’s strengths and preferences.

  • Reduces pressure on your team

Our off-site provision gives your staff breathing space while ensuring residents are engaged in safe, meaningful activity elsewhere. It’s one less thing to plan, with one big outcome.

  • Compassionate icon

Easy to arrange and risk free

We offer free trial sessions and support you through the process. There’s no long term commitment or admin burden – just a chance to explore something new.

  • Proactive icon

Evidence to support inspections and families

We can provide participation feedback and simple progress notes, helping you demonstrate activity outcomes for CQC or family reassurance.
