Our Living Well with Sight Loss course is free to attend and aims to give you information and advice about living with your sight loss.

As well as finding out more about your eye condition and talking to other people experiencing the same issues as you, we will discuss the procedures at the eye hospital and the benefits of registration.

You will learn techniques to make the most of your vision and hear about the latest gadgets, specialist equipment and assistive technology that could make your life a little easier.

We regularly have guest speakers who may include Guide Dogs, Rehabilitation teams, Welfare Rights teams, the police, the fire service and staff from the Eye Hospital. Plus we will demonstrate specialist aids and equipment.

Where? Across Greater Manchester

When? This is a four week programme designed to provide you with the knowledge and contacts to make informed choices about your sight loss. The programme is available either over the telephone; meaning you can attend from the comfort of your own home, or face to face at one of our Hubs or community venues. We welcome family members to attend along with those living with sight loss and as we have recently condensed the information shared each of the 4 sessions are only 60-90 minutes with plenty of time for questions and answers. The biggest difference the course has made is knowing that I’m not alone. Talking and being in contact with others who are in the same boat. It has built my social network and it has also helped listening to the guest speakers and finding out what’s out there, like gadgets and people who can help.
