Warm Welcome

Mark Belcher, Head of Enablement, and Josh Deegan, Enablement Officer, will greet you and ensure you feel comfortable and included. This meetup marks the first step toward forming a self-sustaining group. The group will meet monthly and potentially expand to other activities and locations in Greater Manchester. Meet other attendees, share stories, and discover common interests. Together, we can build a strong, self-supporting community.

Community Consultation

You asked for an opportunity to meet informally in an easy-to-access venue, and we listened. We designed this event based on your feedback, providing a welcoming space for connection and support.

Why Attend?

Make new friends and expand your social network within the visual impairment community. Play a crucial role in creating a self-supporting group that fosters independence and mutual support. If we succeed in Manchester, we will replicate this model in other areas of Greater Manchester, offering more opportunities to connect and engage.

Our Vision

At Henshaws Society for Blind People, we empower individuals with visual impairments by providing opportunities for social connection and support. We designed the Henshaws Manchester Social to be self-sufficient, with initial support from our team. We hope these gatherings will grow organically, fostering a strong sense of community and mutual support across Greater Manchester.
