Discover the spectacular world of tiaras
From royalty to the stars of stage and screen, tiaras have long represented celebration, status and glamour.
During this special afternoon talk, Susan Rumfitt will explore the fascinating history of tiaras. She will also reveal the traditions and etiquette surrounding how they have been designed, worn and treasured.
Whether you love jewellery, history, fashion or royal stories, Tiaras & Tea promises an entertaining and memorable afternoon.

Meet jewellery expert Susan Rumfitt
Susan Rumfitt has worked in the jewellery industry for more than 30 years. She is also a familiar face on the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, where she has appeared as a jewellery specialist for 20 years.
Susan began her career with Christie’s Auctioneers in Glasgow. She later moved to Phillips Auctioneers in London, where she headed one of its jewellery departments.
In 2006, Susan opened her own gallery in Harrogate. She regularly gives talks about the history of jewellery and gemstones.
Susan is also a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and an accredited lecturer for The Arts Society.

The event offers a wonderful opportunity to discover Henshaws Arts and Crafts Centre spend time with friends, meet new people and learn more about the remarkable stories behind some of the world’s most famous jewellery.
Supporting the Henshaws Secret Garden
Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre has run out of space and sadly cannot accommodate any new Artmakers. Money raised through the Secret Garden Appeal, including our Tiaras & Tea Afternoon, will help us to build two new purpose-built craft workshops in the wonderful woodland area at the Centre, and to offer up to 200 additional Artmaker sessions a week!
By booking a ticket, you will help us move another step closer to making the Secret Garden a reality.
Parking and accessibility
Parking at Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre is limited. If you park on site, please enter your vehicle registration at the café when you arrive to avoid receiving a parking charge notice.
Additional pay-and-display parking is available nearby at Conyngham Hall car park, Bond End, Knaresborough, HG5 9AY. The car park is open 24 hours and has 355 spaces. Current charges on the event date are £4.40 for up to four hours or £5.90 for longer stays. Parking is free for disabled users.
