Sylvia Chengo: Visually impaired, Unstoppable!

Sylvia is a lifestyle, fashion and beauty content creator residing in London. She has two children who are her world and fuel her purpose in all the work she does in disability advocacy.

In her journey as a Disability Advocate, she has written and featured in national and international media, created content for outlets such as BBC, panelist and organising committee at the 1st and 2nd Disability Journalism Forum, and was awarded the GLOMAMA Honorary Award for her outstanding achievements in contributing to the representation of Disabled parenthood.

Sylvia spends her time working and volunteering in the sight loss charity sector, holding a position in a committee and working to improve opportunities for disabled families. In her local community, Sylvia visits schools, local radio, groups and gatherings to deliver Disability Awareness talks and share information of the services available.

As a content creator, Sylvia has built up her platform as a safe space with an engaged community across Youtube, Instagram, Tik Tok and Facebook.

“We talk about our struggles and triumphs, we have fun, we laugh and cry then laugh again. We embrace each day as it comes, giving it our best whatever that might mean for that day”
