As 2025 began, Dave Steele made a promise to himself – he wasn’t going to ‘let blindness win’.
For Dave, this commitment is about reclaiming his independence, confidence, and mental well-being. Over the last few months, a recent change in his vision left him feeling isolated, reluctant to step outside without his family by his side. But that’s not how Dave wants to live.
So, he’s taking action.
This year, he’s setting himself a challenge: to step outside his comfort zone every single day and head to the gym. It’s not just about fitness; it’s about rebuilding resilience, overcoming obstacles, and boosting his mental health. Filming each day, Dave hopes to present an honest account of his experiences and encourage others to take their first step alongside him.
In this post, you’ll find Dave’s introduction video, as well as a look at the first three days of his challenge. You’ll hear about the obstacles he faces, the progress he makes, and why this journey is about so much more than just exercise.
Join Dave as he takes on 2025 one step at a time.
Taking that first step is often always the hardest.
