‘At Henshaws we are devoted to making a difference to the lives of the people we support. Sometimes this can be the smallest of things, and other times something that adds a real wow-factor to a person’s life. We see our work changing people’s lives for the better every day. Together we go beyond expectations.’
Due to staff progression and increased student numbers, we are looking to recruit a number of enablers to work alongside our students. The role involves assisting our students to access their personalised study programme focussing on independence, employability and social skills.
Our students age from 16-25 and have a variety of health conditions such as sensory impairments and moderate to severe learning difficulties. Some of our students have an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD) which may result in some challenging behaviours. Due to the needs of our students, support with intimate personal care and feeding may be required (possibly PEG feeding).
We are looking to recruit staff who are conscientious, bright, and respectful and who can make a difference to the lives of our young people; supporting them to achieve their personal learning and enable a smooth transition into adult life. Experience in care is not essential but it would be great to receive applications from applicants who hold a recognised care qualification such as a diploma/NVQ2 in Health and Social Care.
To apply please read the job description and person specification and submit a completed application form. For further information about the role please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Henshaws Society for Blind People aims to employ a diverse workforce and is committed to equality of employment and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community. This role may require an enhanced DBS check, please refer to the job description for further details.
