Job Title: Digital Communications Officer (part time)
Location: Washbrook House, Stretford, Manchester
Salary: £9.77 per hour – between £10,668.84 - £14,225.12 per annum
Hours: 21-28 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Annual Leave: 25 days plus 10 statutory holidays (pro-rata for part time / term time roles)

A new position is required to enable marketing to support the development of the new charity priorities in digital and Henshaws services. The role will be tasked with communicating and implementing a new organisational ethos which will encourage greater involvement in raising awareness and income for the charity.

The post holder will be introducing and implementing a paradigm shift in the way that we engage with staff, services users, family and friends in Henshaws Services. The post holder will be required to digitally engage and recruit service users in our increasing number of community service hubs.

The new role will also be responsible for supporting the part time ‘Head of Content’ to devise, produce and deliver digital content and support.

Key responsibilities include:

–  To increase public awareness of Henshaws and general issues surrounding visual impairments and other disabilities.

–  To ensure consistency and promotion of society brand and communication.

–  Develop innovative digital content to improve engagement with service users and donors.

The successful candidate will have a degree or relevant qualification, and relevant marketing experience either through a work placement or a full time role. Strong communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to summarise complex issues, as well as strong creative and copy writing skills, are essential.

It is also essential to have experience of developing and implementing creative and innovative marketing and communication strategies and applying appropriate monitoring and evaluation measures, as well as strong creative and copy writing skills with the experience of tailoring communications to fit a wide variety of audiences.

It would be desirable to have experience or understanding of working in the charitable sector and experience of website design/management.
