Henshaws is a Northern charity supporting people living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities to go beyond expectations. We have a specialist College in Harrogate, as well as an Arts and Crafts Centre in Knaresborough, residential houses in the Harrogate area and offices and hubs in the North West.

The post holder will take overall responsibility for the payroll function for the Charity, ensuring that all payments and deductions are made correctly in accordance with statutory requirements and in line with internal and external timescales.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Process payroll documentation for new and existing employees
  • Calculate and payment of monthly salaries, pensions and any other payments and deductions through the BACS system
  • Process all year end transactions, balancing figures and submitting all documentation required by the HMRC

Experience of working in a payroll position and of using payroll systems/databases, as well as experience of leading on processing online month end returns, is essential. The post holder will also need to have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and excellent numerical skills.

An NPC/CIPP qualification or equivalent is desirable, but full training will be given.
