At Henshaws Arts & Crafts we make more than art. We bring people together in an atmosphere that never fails to inspire.
Through our workshops, people living with a range of disabilities discover their talents, put them into practice and realise their full potential. Over 150 Art Makers access the Centre each week to take part in around 18 different workshops.
We are recruiting for flexible and supportive Workshop Leaders on a supply basis to cover holidays and absence.
This role will instruct and supervise Art Makers in the workshop programme at the Arts and Craft Centre (ACC). The Supply Workshop Leader will encourage Art Makers to reach their full potential in a safe and creative setting.
Workshop leaders instruct and supervise Art Makers with disabilities delivering workshop sessions, and assist Art makers to produce their own work with an aim to maximising their potential and creative abilities.
We have a wide range of workshops covering art, cookery, fitness, papercraft and pottery amongst many others but the specific areas we are looking to recruit for are:
- Multi sensory
We would be keen to hear from anyone with any of these skills that would like to make a difference to the lives of our Art Makers.
An ability to inspire and encourage others towards working and creating, along with excellent communication skills, is essential.
Previous experience of working with people with visual impairment/other disabilities is desirable but full training will be given.
The successful candidate will need a flexible approach to working hours – no set hours are offered for this role.
