Our media and IT centre has been built with you in mind. It provides a flexible working environment and is home to our IT suite, work centre, commercial print service and recording studios.
IT suite
Inside our accessible IT suite, you will find all the resources and support that you need to access technology. You can set the rise and fall desks and touch screen monitors to the height and distance which is most comfortable for you.
You can use these facilities in your own time during the evenings and weekends. Our Assistive Technology team will work with you and people close to you to identify and respond to your individual needs. We will also set up your own personal devices such as tablets.
Work centre
Our work centre is a large and spacious teaching area where many of our enterprise and employability activities take place. It houses our commercial print service, where students process real orders for homes and businesses. This is just one of the enterprise activities available on campus which give students the chance to try out real work and gain employability skills before moving on to external work placements.
Recording studios
In our two soundproofed recording studios, you can learn how to record audio, produce podcasts and edit music. Our high quality recording equipment is designed to be fully accessible, with rise and fall desks and a modified mixing desk. The studios provide an exciting and fun environment to support your independence through social communication including turn taking, directing others and group work.
