Artmaker Voice Results 2025. What Our Community Told Us

Our latest Artmaker survey has given us a detailed picture of how the Arts and Crafts Centre is supporting people’s wellbeing, creativity and confidence. The results reflect the experiences of the people who shape our community each day and they show how powerful creative connection can be.

The survey highlights a strong sense of belonging among Artmakers, with 91% saying they feel they belong. Many people shared that they feel happier, less lonely and more included in the community. These responses show how much value people place on being part of a creative space where they feel safe and connected.

Growing Confidence and Independence

A smiling face icon appears beside the text 87 percent “I feel more confident”. Below it is a horizontal pink progress bar filled most of the way across. Under the bar, the text reads 85 percent agree “I feel more independent”.

Confidence was a standout theme. The survey shows that 87% of Artmakers feel more confident because of their time at the Centre and 85% feel more independent.

These outcomes matter because they highlight the wider impact of creative engagement. For many people, building confidence is a steady and personal journey, and the Centre plays a meaningful part in that growth.

Creativity at the Heart of the Experience

The survey findings also show strong gains in creative development. A total of 89% of Artmakers reported learning a new creative skill and 69% said they have learnt something they can do at home.

This tells us that creativity stretches beyond the workshops and becomes part of everyday life. Creativity helps people express themselves, explore new ideas and build resilience.

A row of ten simple person icons is shown, with nine in orange and one in grey. Below this, the text reads 89 percent “I learnt a new creative skill”. A horizontal orange progress bar is filled most of the way across. Beneath the bar, the text reads 80 percent “I feel less worried or stressed”.

Feeling Heard and Supported

Feeling able to share ideas and emotions is an important part of personal wellbeing. According to the results, 80% of Artmakers feel they can share their thoughts and feelings at the Centre and 80% also feel less worried or stressed.

These responses confirm the importance of the relationships, conversations and day to day moments that happen across the Centre.

Lisa Hart, Head of the Arts and Crafts Centre, shared her response to the findings.

“These results mean a great deal to all of us. They reflect the voices of our Artmakers and show the positive effect that creativity, support and community can have. We are proud that so many Artmakers feel happier, more confident and more included through their time here. The results also help us learn. They show what we are doing well and guide us on how we can continue to improve.”

“The feedback will shape our work over the coming year. We want every Artmaker to feel valued and to have opportunities to develop new skills and build meaningful connections. Thank you to everyone who took part. Your voices lead our future direction.”

Looking Ahead

The latest Artmaker survey is an important step in understanding what our community needs and how we can continue to improve. We are committed to listening, learning and creating opportunities that support personal growth and creative expression.
