Crowds brave the rain for Bed Fest music festival
Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre was transformed into a fabulous festival venue for Bed Fest music festival last weekend, complete with typically British weather!
Visitors enjoyed 12 hours of free live music across four stages throughout the day from local musical talent and nationally acclaimed bands including Fold and Louise Distras. The event helped to raise almost £5000 for the centre, which will help us to support more people with disabilities to realise their potential through creative workshops.
Event organiser Rufus Beckett said: “It was definitely the best line up of music we’ve ever had in the four years we’ve been running Bed Fest. The crowds were amazing, especially considering we were contending with bad weather and the England football match being on!”
We’d like to thank everyone who was involved in making the day such a success including volunteers, staff, Art Makers and 36 junior soldiers from the Army College in Harrogate. Also thanks to the volunteers from Roosters Brewery and Helperby Beer Festival who helped us to sell over 1500 bottles of beer and cider, plus hundreds of glasses of wine, prosecco, and pimms!
We’re already planning how to make Bed Fest 2017 even better. Please like our Henshaws Live Facebook page for the latest news about our music events.See all our Arts & Crafts Centre events
