In Daisy’s own words
What would you like people to know about you?
Hi my name is Daisy, I’m 19 years old from Manchester. I am a friendly, hardworking and helpful person as I’m always willing to help others.
My interests are that I love animals especially horses and dogs. I am also interested in helping others when they need it most.
My future plans are to hopefully find a decent job working with horses or other small animals such as cats, rabbits, dogs and gerbils.
What have you done with Henshaws?
I have done quite a few things with Henshaws in the past such as the I Can Do It course which is a residential which enables children and young people with sight loss aged 8-12 years and 13-17 years to develop independence skills.
Another thing that I have done with Henshaws is a lot of different activities such as kayaking, horse riding and many more.
I have enjoyed quite a few things when doing all the activities such as learning new skills and making lots of new friends in the process as well. My favourite activities have been the horse riding and the kayaking.

How has Henshaws made a difference in your life?
Henshaws has made a massive difference in my life by making me feel a lot more confident about having a visual impairment as well as telling me that having a visual impairment doesn’t stop you from doing your favourite things.

Building skills, making memories
Our CYP service supports children and young people in a variety of ways. It supports them to develop vital life skills and enables them to have fun. As can be seen, Daisy’s an example of this. She has learned new skills, participated in different activities, and socialised.
She has embraced everything our CYP service offers, from the residential and work experience to fun activities.
