Give the Gift of Adventure – Transform Lives This Christmas!

This Christmas, give the ultimate gift of adventure and opportunity to visually impaired children and young people.

At Henshaws, we believe every child deserves the magic of joyful experiences, even if their challenges make those moments look a little different. Through the Gift of Adventure, you can make an extraordinary impact by helping children and young people with visual impairments gain confidence, learn essential life skills, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Harry’s Story: Confidence Through Adventure

Harry has been part of Henshaws’ Children and Young People programme since 2017. Like many of the young people we support, Harry faces unique challenges. His anxiety can make meeting new people and being in large group settings difficult.

However, thanks to the safe, nurturing environment provided by Henshaws, Harry has grown in confidence and thrived. With the support of our dedicated team, Harry has not only made wonderful friends but has also achieved milestones that once seemed out of reach.

One highlight of Harry’s journey is his participation in Henshaws’ Carols by Candlelight choir, where he performed alongside other young people. His parents share how life-changing these opportunities have been:

“Harry’s anxiety can prove problematic, especially when being introduced to new people or in larger group settings, but because the young persons team genuinely understand his quirks and needs, and always provide a safe, nurturing environment, he feels completely at home. He has made some wonderful friends along the way, as have I, and their sessions have increased his confidence exponentially.”

Harry dressed in a festive red Santa hat and a Henshaws t-shirt is illuminated while holding a microphone, performing in a dimly lit setting. Other performers wearing similar attire are visible in the blurred background, creating a warm and festive atmosphere.

Harry’s story is just one example of how your donations can help young people grow, connect, and embrace the joy of adventure.
