Henshaws Summer Ball

We are delighted to share the highlights of our 2nd Summer Charity Ball at the Hilton. This evening was filled with joy, entertainment, and heartfelt moments as our incredible supporters gathered together to raise much-needed funds to support those with sight loss and other disabilities.

An Evening of Stellar Performances at our Summer Ball

A signboard on an easel at the Henshaws Summer Charity Ball, located at the top of a spiral staircase. The sign reads 'Henshaws Summer Ball, Please find your seats' and lists table numbers and names of attendees. The setting features a modern interior with a glass railing and patterned carpet.

The night kicked off with a captivating drinks reception. Guests were serenaded by the talented cellist Maya Tucker from the Royal Northern College of Music. Her performance set the perfect tone for the evening, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Next, our patron, Dave Steele, also known as The Blind Poet, took the stage to deliver a touching poem. His words resonated deeply with the audience, highlighting the impact of our work and the community we serve.

The entertainment continued with lively performances from DJ and singer John Norcott. Following his act, the dynamic live band Waking Vegas kept the energy high. Both acts had our guests up and dancing, creating an electric atmosphere that lasted throughout the night.

Heartfelt Moments and Inspiring Stories

One of the evening’s highlights was an interview with our wonderful compere, Dominic Walker. He spoke with Harry, one of our Children and Young People, and his dad, Andrew. They shared their personal experiences and what Henshaws means to them, offering a glimpse into the positive impact of our work. Additionally, Harry showcased his very own radio jingle, adding a personal touch to the evening.

Special Thanks

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our title sponsor, British Airways, for their generous support. A special thanks also goes to Esprit, our food sponsor, for providing the delicious meals that everyone enjoyed.

Furthermore, we are incredibly thankful to Globexpert for providing the silent auction, which was a significant part of our fundraising efforts. Lastly, we appreciate the hard work of our volunteers from Beever and Struthers: Bec, Jess, and Beauty. Your contributions were invaluable and made the evening run smoothly.

Fundraising Success

The generosity of our supporters shone brightly as money poured in through various activities. We raised funds through a raffle, live auction, silent auction, and donations for our stunning flower centrepieces, kindly provided by Maryam Ghani at Haute Florist. Each donation contributes significantly to supporting our mission to assist those with sight loss and other disabilities.

Looking Ahead

We are excited to announce our return to the Hilton on 15th March 2025 as beneficiaries of the “It’s All About the Kids” Gala Ball. We look forward to another wonderful evening of celebration and support.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making the 2nd Summer Charity Ball a memorable and successful event. Your support is invaluable. Together, we can continue to make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Stay tuned for more updates and events. Once again, thank you for your unwavering support!
