Spend the week having fun, making friends, learning new life skills and increasing your confidence with I Can Do It at Children's Adventure Farm, for ages 8-13.
I Can Do It goes to Children’s Adventure Farm
We have a fantastic opportunity for children and young people to take part in a four-night residential holiday at the Children’s Adventure Farm as part of Henshaws I Can Do It course.
Join us at Children’s Adventure Farm from the 3rd-7th April as part of our I Can Do It course!
We are very excited to be able to offer a set of children a wonderful experience this year, and learn new skills whilst having a fantastic time at the Children’s Adventure Farm in Altrincham for a five day residential break.
The children will undertake a varied programme delivered by a Henshaws Enablement Officer to include sessions on interpersonal skills, confidence building, dealing with bullying and stress, personal hygiene, choosing clothes, handling money, personal safety, kitchen skills, specialist aids/equipment and future plans including transitions to education employment and training.
The programmes will have tailored content interspersed with adventurous activities and priority will be given to 8-13 year olds residing within Greater Manchester.
A stay on the farm will give the children the chance to meet and spend time with other children of a similar age who are also visually impaired. By sharing personal experiences and challenges and giving them access to peer support, the group will gain confidence from each other as well as make what we hope will be, long-term friendships.
We know that a holiday at the farm will give our children the opportunity to experience new, exciting activities and have fun in a safe environment where their unique and individual needs can be met and nurtured.
