Visitors find their future at 4th Leisure, Lifestyle & Work Fair

The fourth Leisure, Lifestyle and Work Fair took place at Henshaws Specialist College earlier this month (Sat 7th October). The event welcomed young people with special educational needs and disabilities and their families to the College campus near Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

Over 50 visitors took the opportunity to speak with a wide range of exhibitors from across the region, including NYPACT, REMAP, Core Assets, Mind the Gap (Bradford), and Yorkshire Care Equipment as well as staff from Henshaws Yorkshire services.

Henshaws Specialist College staff also shared their knowledge and experience via short talks about: accessing specialist education, the student experience, and therapies and wellbeing.

Lisa Hart, Henshaws Specialist College Deputy Principal, said “Henshaws offers person-centred, accessible support services for disabled people across Yorkshire.  If we don’t offer what you need we aim to put you in touch with an organisation than can help. Our Leisure, Lifestyle and Work Fair allows us to do just that in a very direct manner. We are pleased to have been able to host another successful event this year.”
