Yorkshire People’s Business Awards 2024: Patron of Henshaws named Finalist

We are thrilled to announce that Rob Northfield, founder of 2inspire, is a finalist in the Yorkshire People’s Business Awards (YPBA) 2024 in “The Rob Burrow Outstanding Contribution to Charity Award” category. Rob’s extraordinary contributions to Henshaws, both as a fundraiser and advocate, have earned him this well-deserved recognition.

A Champion for Henshaws and the Community

Capturing the full essence of Rob Northfield’s contributions to Henshaws is a challenge that words can scarcely meet. Rob has raised an astonishing £22,000 this past year alone. His boundless passion for helping others, combined with his genuine ability to make those around him feel valued and heard, sets him apart as an extraordinary figure within our community.

The Empire State Challenge: Grit, Determination, and Heart

In June 2024, just before his 71st birthday, Rob took on an incredible challenge. He spent three hours on a stair machine, climbing the equivalent of the Empire State Building seven times. His grit and determination helped him raise an impressive £10,300. Rob’s commitment to this challenge was even more inspiring because he gave up his regular running routine to focus entirely on training. His efforts raised both awareness and funds for Henshaws. This personal sacrifice highlights his unwavering dedication to supporting individuals with sight loss and disabilities.

Rob’s challenge brought the community together. His fundraising directly supports Henshaws’ work, providing essential tools and opportunities for those in need. Thanks to Rob’s efforts, Henshaws has been able to offer life-changing resources. These include iPads for non-verbal students, enabling them to communicate for the first time. His fundraising has also provided materials for our Arts and Crafts workshops, where individuals with disabilities can develop skills, form friendships, and gain confidence to lead independent lives.

Leadership Programme: Uplifting People Across Yorkshire

One of Rob’s remarkable contributions is his involvement in Henshaws’ Leadership Programme. This initiative empowers individuals across the region to develop leadership skills. It is open to everyone, and the proceeds directly support Henshaws’ work with people living with sight loss. Through his tireless efforts, Rob has helped many individuals gain the confidence and skills needed to take control of their futures. His work shows how leadership training can be a powerful tool for self-improvement, benefiting participants beyond their expectations.

Rob’s commitment to uplifting others through leadership and development training has transformed hundreds of lives. At the same time, he has raised crucial funds to support Henshaws’ vital services.

From Humble Beginnings to a Legacy of Giving

Despite his well-deserved retirement after founding several successful companies and becoming a self-made millionaire, Rob has never slowed down in his quest to give back. His charitable work and fundraising efforts have been nothing short of life-changing. Rob’s story of resilience, triumph, and selflessness is an inspiration to everyone who knows him. His personal commitment to Henshaws has not only helped raise funds but has also built a legacy of hope for future generations.

Rob’s ability to balance his successful career with his passion for helping others makes him an exceptional role model. His remarkable fundraising allows Henshaws to continue providing vital support to individuals with disabilities and sight loss. Rob’s contributions have a direct and lasting impact on those we serve.
