Afternoon Group

The Afternoon Group Bury is a weekly social session for people with sight loss or other access needs. It’s a chance to unwind, take part in light activities, and enjoy conversation in a welcoming environment.

When & Where

Every Thursday, 1:30pm to 3:00pm
Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People, 6–8 Trafford Street, Bury, BL9 0TY

Who is eligible?

Anyone living with sight loss or similar access needs is welcome. You can attend regularly or just drop in when you’re free. Carers and companions are also welcome to join.

What to expect

Each week includes a light, accessible group activity followed by time for refreshments and informal chat. Activities rotate depending on the week:

  • Week 2: Quiz
  • Week 3: Bingo

All activities are adapted to support those with visual impairments, and volunteers are available throughout to assist as needed. Whether you take part in the games or prefer to sit and chat, you’ll be part of a relaxed and inclusive group.

The Afternoon Group Bury is a gentle, enjoyable way to stay connected, try something new, and meet others in a similar situation.
