BBS Bees Book Club

The BBS Bees Book Club Bury is a friendly, accessible group for anyone who enjoys reading and sharing ideas. Whether you love audiobooks, braille, or large print, this monthly book club provides a relaxed way to explore stories and connect with others.

When & Where

Third Saturday of every month, 11:00am to 12:30pm
Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People, 6–8 Trafford Street, Bury, BL9 0TY

Who is eligible?

The group is open to anyone living with sight loss, no matter how you prefer to read. You don’t need to have attended other sessions before — new members are always welcome.

What to expect

Each month, members choose a new book to read in a format that suits them. Discussions are friendly and inclusive, and you’re free to share your thoughts or simply listen in. The group often explores a wide range of genres, from contemporary fiction to memoirs and poetry.

The BBS Bees Book Club Bury is designed to be fully accessible. Volunteers support the session, and book choices are always available in multiple formats. In addition, the atmosphere is informal, so there’s no pressure to “keep up” just come along and enjoy the conversation.

If you enjoy reading and would like to share that passion with others who understand the challenges of sight loss, this group is a great place to start.

Booking Required

You don’t need to book. However, it’s helpful to contact the office ahead of your first visit so we can make sure the right book format is available.
