If you’re blind or visually impaired and would enjoy a warm meal with friendly company each week, our Henshaws Luncheon Club in Bolton could be just the thing. This weekly group brings people together for lunch, conversation and connection in a relaxed, welcoming space.
Whether you’re looking for a reason to get out of the house, meet new people or simply enjoy a home-cooked lunch without the washing up, the Bolton luncheon club offers a chance to do just that in a supportive setting.
When & Where:
We meet every Wednesday afternoon from 10:30m to 1:30pm at The Sensory Centre, Tonge Moor, 336 Ainsworth Lane, Bolton, BL2 2QL. The venue is fully accessible and well served by local buses.
Who is eligible?
We welcome adults living with sight loss in Bolton and the surrounding areas. You don’t need to be formally registered as blind or partially sighted – if your vision affects your daily life, you’ll be welcomed. Carers and companions are also invited to attend.
What to expect:
Each session includes a hot lunch, served in good company. You’ll have time to chat, share stories and catch up with others in a relaxed setting. It’s not just about the food – it’s also about friendship, laughter and feeling part of something.
We occasionally include simple group activities or invite visitors from local services, but the focus stays on enjoying the time together and creating a positive weekly routine.
Booking Required:
Please book in advance, as we’re unable to accept drop-ins. This allows us to prepare meals and set up the space in a way that works for everyone attending.
