Every session focuses on practical tools that support everyday life. You’ll learn how to use technology more confidently, stay connected, and make informed choices about which devices and apps could work best for you as part of the Bolton tech support group. The Bolton Tech Talk aims to provide this valuable insight.
When & Where:
We meet on the first Thursday of every month, from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Sessions take place at The Sensory Centre, Tonge Moor, 336 Ainsworth Lane, Bolton, BL2 2QL. The venue is fully accessible and close to local transport routes, making it ideal for our Bolton tech support group.
Who is eligible?
The group is open to anyone with sight loss living in Bolton or nearby areas. You don’t need to be experienced with technology – many people join just to discover what’s available. Carers and companions are welcome too, as we know that learning together can make a big difference. Our Bolton Tech Talk group is an excellent resource for everyone.
What to expect:
Each session is led by a member of our Digital Team and includes informal discussions about all aspects of tech that are relevant to sight loss. Our team offers friendly, hands-on support.
We cover a wide range of topics – from apps that help with reading and navigation and settings that make devices easier to use, to tech that is rumoured to be in the pipeline. Being part of a supportive Bolton Tech Talk group truly makes a difference.
You’ll also hear real-life experiences from other attendees. These shared insights often lead to simple tips and clever shortcuts that you might not find elsewhere.
