Bury Lunch Club

The Bury Lunch Club is a welcoming weekly session where people with sight loss can come together to enjoy a freshly prepared meal and connect with others. Whether you’re a regular visitor or attending for the first time, you’ll find a friendly table and a warm atmosphere waiting for you.

When & Where

Every Friday, 11:30am to 2:00pm
Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People, 6–8 Trafford Street, Bury, BL9 0TY

Who is eligible?

The Bury Lunch Club is open to anyone living with sight loss or other access needs. Carers and companions are welcome too. You don’t have to be a member — the group is open to all.

What to expect

Each week, attendees enjoy a shared meal in a calm, inclusive setting. The menu alternates:

  • One week: Soup and sandwich
  • Next week: Two-course cooked lunch

Volunteers are available throughout the session to assist with seating, describe the food, and offer any support required. The room layout encourages conversation, and the pace is gentle so everyone can relax and enjoy their meal.

The Bury Lunch Club offers more than food — it’s a chance to build connections, feel part of a community, and share time with others who understand the experience of living with sight loss.

Booking Required

Yes, booking is required for catering purposes. Please call ahead to reserve your place and inform staff of any dietary needs or access support.
