What to expect:

Our meetings take place at Wolstenholme House, an accessible and welcoming venue designed to accommodate all attendees. Each session addresses topics relevant to living with sight loss, ranging from daily living aids to emotional well-being. We often invite guest speakers to share insights into various aspects of visual impairment. This approach ensures that you receive comprehensive and up-to-date information. By participating in these discussions, you can gain practical knowledge and learn about resources that may assist you in your daily life.

Beyond informative sessions, the Bury sight loss group emphasises the importance of peer support. Engaging with others who face similar challenges can provide comfort and encouragement. Our members are encouraged to share personal experiences and coping strategies, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mutual understanding. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been managing sight loss for some time, connecting with peers can offer new perspectives and emotional support.

Family members and carers are also welcome to attend our meetings and events, as their support plays a crucial role in the well-being of our members. By involving loved ones, we aim to create a comprehensive support network that benefits everyone involved. We believe that by working together, we can create an environment where individuals with sight loss feel valued, understood, and empowered.
