If you’re living with macular disease in or around Chorley, the Chorley macular support group offers a welcoming place to connect with others who understand the challenges of sight loss. This friendly group meets regularly to share advice, offer support, and learn more about managing life with macular conditions.
Whether you’ve just been diagnosed or have been adjusting to vision changes for a while, you’ll be welcomed into a safe, understanding community where everyone shares a common experience.
When & Where:
Meetings take place on the second Monday of every month (except January), from 2pm to 4pm. The group meets at St George’s Church Hall on Halliwell Street, Chorley, PR7 2AL – a centrally located and accessible venue.
Who is eligible?
This group is open to anyone affected by macular disease, including family members and carers. If you’re supporting someone living with vision loss or are seeking support yourself, you’re welcome to attend.
What to expect:
Each session provides an opportunity to talk, listen and feel supported. Meetings include informal discussion, practical tips and peer-led advice. We often invite guest speakers from the fields of eye health, support services, and assistive technology. You’ll also hear from others who have faced similar challenges, which many members find reassuring and empowering.
There’s no pressure to speak – you’re free to simply listen and take part in a way that feels right for you. Over time, many people build strong connections and friendships that continue beyond the group.
