Factory International now has VIAT trained volunteers to support visitors more confidently and inclusively. This training helps our team create a better experience for people with visual impairments and other access needs at all our events.
When & Where
You’ll find VIAT trained volunteers at events and venues run by Factory International, including Aviva Studios and partner locations across Manchester.
Who is eligible?
Anyone can ask for support. Our volunteers are there for people who are blind, partially sighted, or who have other access needs. You don’t need to request anything in advance — just speak to a volunteer on the day.
What to expect
Our volunteers have completed Visually Impaired Awareness Training (VIAT). They now feel more confident and prepared to offer respectful, person-centred assistance. If you need help navigating spaces, finding your seat or getting information, we’re here to support you.
You’ll recognise our volunteers easily at events. They’ll welcome you with a friendly attitude and are happy to listen to what works best for you. Our venues are also designed to be inclusive, with clear signage, step-free access and quiet spaces where available.
