The Glaucoma Support Group Bury provides an open, understanding space for people living with glaucoma. Meeting monthly, the group gives individuals a chance to share their experiences, ask questions, and learn from others in a relaxed setting.
When & Where
Fourth Wednesday of every month, 1:30pm to 2:30pm
Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People, 6–8 Trafford Street, Bury, BL9 0TY
Who is eligible?
Anyone affected by glaucoma is welcome to attend. This includes people living with the condition, those recently diagnosed, and family members or carers who want to learn more.
What to expect
During each session, participants explore a range of topics related to glaucoma. These may include managing eye pressure, understanding treatment options, or adapting to changes in vision. In addition, many attendees share personal insights and practical tips that can be helpful to others.
The Glaucoma Support Group Bury is informal and participant led. You’re free to contribute to the discussion or simply listen, whichever suits you best. Staff and volunteers are present to support access, and all materials are provided in accessible formats.
Importantly, the group offers emotional as well as practical support. By connecting with others facing similar challenges, many participants feel less isolated and more confident in managing their condition.
Booking Required
You don’t need to book in advance. However, we recommend calling ahead if it’s your first time or if you need any specific support on the day.
