Macular Degeneration Support Group Bury

The Macular Degeneration Support Group Bury provides a welcoming space for people living with macular conditions to meet, share experiences, and learn from one another. This monthly group encourages open conversation and mutual support in a relaxed, accessible environment.

When & Where

Third Wednesday of every month, 1:30pm to 3:00pm
Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People, 6–8 Trafford Street, Bury, BL9 0TY

Who is eligible?

The group is open to anyone affected by macular degeneration, including those newly diagnosed and those living with long-term vision loss. Friends, family members, and carers are also welcome.

What to expect

Each session offers time for discussion, information sharing, and peer support. The group often explores practical tips for managing daily life with sight loss, including technology, home adjustments, and emotional wellbeing.

The Macular Degeneration Support Group Bury is informal and friendly, and everyone is encouraged to contribute in their own way. Volunteers and staff are on hand to support the session, and any written materials are provided in accessible formats.

Attending the group can help reduce isolation, build confidence, and create a sense of connection with others facing similar challenges. Many attendees value the opportunity to speak freely in a space where their experiences are understood and respected.

Booking Required

No booking is required. However, if you have questions or would like to speak to someone before attending, feel free to contact the office.
