Monday Events Group (MEGs)

The Monday Events Group is a welcoming weekly session where people come together to take part in creative, hands-on tasks that support Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People. Whether you’re looking to meet others, build confidence, or simply enjoy a purposeful morning, the Group offers a relaxed and sociable space to get involved.

When & Where

Every Monday from 10:00am to 12:00pm
Bury Society for Blind and Partially Sighted People, 6-8 Trafford Street, Bury, BL9 0TY

Who is eligible?

Anyone living with sight loss or other access needs is welcome to attend the Group. Carers and companions can also join, and no previous experience is required.

What to expect

Participants take part in preparing items for community events as part of the Monday Events Group, such as decorating gift toppers, organising donations, and wrapping stock for sale. These practical tasks are carried out in a relaxed group setting, offering both social interaction and a sense of shared achievement.

Importantly, all activities at the Monday Events Group are adapted to suit varying levels of vision and physical ability. Volunteers are available throughout the session to provide support where needed. As a result, the group is accessible and inclusive, with tasks designed to be manageable and enjoyable for everyone.

Booking Required

There is no need to book in advance for the Group. However, if you would like help planning your visit or have specific access needs, you can contact the office beforehand.
