If you’re living with sight loss and want to stay socially active, the Royshaw Vale social group offers a friendly, welcoming space where you can feel understood and supported. Meeting weekly in Royton, this group brings people together for conversation, community and companionship.
Whether you’ve recently started adjusting to vision loss or have lived with it for many years, this group gives you the chance to share your experiences, connect with others and enjoy a regular part of your week.
When & Where:
We meet every Tuesday from 10:00am to 12:00pm at St Paul’s Parish Centre, Downy House, Church Street, Royton, Oldham, OL2 5JS. The venue is accessible and close to local bus routes.
Who is eligible?
This group is open to adults with sight loss living in Royton, Oldham and surrounding areas. You don’t need to be registered blind or partially sighted. If your vision affects your daily life, you’re welcome to attend. Carers, friends and family members can also join us.
What to expect:
Sessions are relaxed and shaped by the group. Some weeks focus on informal conversation and catching up over a brew. Other sessions might include light activities or visits from local services. You can take part as much or as little as you like.
Many people tell us the group gives them something to look forward to each week – a place where they feel understood, supported and less alone.
