The Visionary Salford offers a safe, welcoming space for people with sight loss to connect, share experiences, and build friendships. Supported by staff from Eccles Gateway and the Salford Sensory Team, the group provides regular opportunities to socialise, enjoy a chat, and take part in relaxed, accessible meet-ups across the community.
When & Where:
The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 10:30am.
Address: Eccles Gateway, 28 Barton Lane, Eccles, M30 0TU.
Occasionally, meetings are held at other local venues such as cafés and restaurants. Any changes are always communicated in advance. Refreshments are provided, and you’re welcome to bring your own lunch if you’d like.
Who is eligible?
The group is open to anyone living with visual impairment in the Salford area who would like to meet new people, share experiences, and enjoy social activities in a supportive environment.
What to expect:
Expect a friendly, informal atmosphere where members come together to chat, share stories and enjoy each other’s company. Each meeting offers a chance to relax and stay connected with others who understand life with sight loss. The group is supported by Gateway staff and, when needed, the Salford Sensory Team.
Members can also stay in touch between meetings through a WhatsApp group and a Facebook page, where updates and event details are shared.
